Administrative Orders And Local Rules

The chief judge of each of Florida's 20 judicial circuits has administrative supervision over all courts within the circuit, and may enter and sign administrative orders to carry out this responsibility. See Fla. R. Jud. Admin. 2.120(c) & 2.215(b)(2) & (e).

Further, a majority of the circuit and county judges in the circuit may propose local rules as defined in Fla. R. Jud. Admin. 2.120(b), pursuant to Fla. R. Jud. Admin. 2.215(e). However, local rules are no longer required for changes to juror pool selection plans, see FSC WEBSITE.

Administrative orders and local rules deal with a variety of topics, such as judge assignment, case assignment, court events, process servers, and data maintenance, storage, retrieval, and archival.
